Directorate-General for Personnel
The Directorate-General for Personnel helps ensure excellence in service to Members by attracting, developing and retaining diverse talent in a healthy, inclusive and collaborative workplace, and by delivering agile and innovative HR services and administration.
Its main task is to provide harmonious management, in the widest sense of the term, of the human resources at the disposal of the Secretariat-General in order to furnish the Members of the European Parliament with all the support necessary for the proper fulfilment of their mandate, inter alia by:
- ensuring the appropriateness of the human resources available and the needs of the institution via ongoing analysis and proactive and anticipative management of actions to be taken (identification of needs, selection, recruitment, training, development, communication);
- providing effective administrative management which is oriented towards the individual needs of staff while respecting the rules in force and budgetary availability;
- placing the individual at the centre of human resources management and providing him/her with all necessary support by means of appropriate social and medical measures;
- promoting and facilitating a diverse, inclusive workplace;
- working in close collaboration with the other Directorates-General and entities of the Secretariat-General, in constructive dialogue with staff representatives, and in a spirit of collegiality vis-à-vis individuals;
- appropriately deploying ex-ante and ex-post control and verification measures to guarantee the best possible usage of the financial resources available to the Directorate-General.
